Making AI Work: Lessons from a Pilot That Stuck
Friday July 25, 2025 9:40am - 10:40am PDT
This session shares lessons learned when a district put generative AI to the test in classrooms. Co-presented by a district leader and a SchoolAI team member, we'll walk through how the pilot was designed, what educators actually did with the tools, and why the district decided to move forward. You'll hear about specific use cases in science and math—like how AI supported student inquiry and self-directed experiences—and also what teachers found most helpful (and what they didn’t use). We'll focus on practical takeaways: how the pilot was structured, what metrics mattered, and what changed for both teachers and students. This is a working session on what it takes to move from pilot to practice with AI in STEM

AI in Motion: Turning Math Misconceptions into Movement-Based Learning
Friday July 25, 2025 10:50am - 11:50am PDT
What if your math intervention plan started with student data and ended with a dodgeball game that teaches fractions?

At Navigator Schools, we’re building an AI-powered tool that analyzes student assessment data to identify high-leverage math misconceptions—then automatically generates conceptual, standards-aligned, movement-based games using everyday PE equipment. The result? Instant reteaching activities that get students thinking, moving, and actually understanding the math.

This session will demo our prototype, explain the AI logic behind misconception detection, and walk attendees through the design principles that make this approach both effective and equitable. You'll see real examples of how schools are using this tool to close gaps in foundational concepts like place value, proportional reasoning, and operations with fractions—all while boosting student engagement and confidence.

Designing and Managing Meaningful Project-Based Learning
Friday July 25, 2025 12:50pm - 2:20pm PDT
Not all project-based learning is the same—and choosing the right type of project can make all the difference in student engagement and success. In this workshop, we’ll explore three distinct types of project-based learning and help you determine which one best fits your students’ needs, goals, and classroom context. You’ll learn how to design each type with purpose, align it to meaningful outcomes, and build structures that guide students through every phase of the process. From student-driven inquiry to structured challenges, we’ll examine real examples and offer strategies for managing time, scaffolding learning, and keeping students on track. Whether you’re just getting started or refining your practice, this session will help you design projects that are both powerful and pra
