Where do we get our information from in 2025? Many teenagers get their news from short-form videos as well as podcasts. In this session, we will explore how to craft an assessment that offers students a choice in how to demonstrate their understanding of a STEM topic of their choice.

This session shares lessons learned when a district put generative AI to the test in classrooms. Co-presented by a district leader and a SchoolAI team member, we'll walk through how the pilot was designed, what educators actually did with the tools, and why the district decided to move forward. You'll hear about specific use cases in science and math—like how AI supported student inquiry and self-directed experiences—and also what teachers found most helpful (and what they didn’t use). We'll focus on practical takeaways: how the pilot was structured, what metrics mattered, and what changed for both teachers and students. In this session, we introduce the STEAM in AI Ethics Curriculum—a modular, standards-aligned program designed by Stanford, MIT, and UC Berkeley faculty to empower educators with tools to teach AI responsibly. Learn about low-code, no-code solutions that make AI accessible to all learners, and how this curriculum is preparing students for AI-powered futures while addressing ethics in technology. In this session, educators will learn about the high-quality resources available from UC Scout. In the Plus plan, instructors receive access to standards-aligned curricula and tools that don't sacrifice quality or engagement. Free to California public schools, these courses can be utilized as a roadmap for building new STEM curriculum or to supplement existing STEM courses. Through a case study on three STEM courses offered through UC Scout, participants will understand UC Scout standards and alignment and why they can place their confidence in these resources. We will also share details on Teaching in the Digital Classroom (TDC), a free professional development series designed to support teachers with both the basics of online teaching as well as boosting skills for experienced online educators. With ready-to-use resources and professional development that educators can rely on, teachers will leave with actionable steps to enhance their confidence teaching STEM in their classrooms.

Participants will explore how these tools can be used to teach ethical concepts like bias, misinformation, data privacy, and transparency. This hands-on session introduces educators to the fundamentals of Arduino—an accessible microcontroller platform ideal for STEM education. Participants will build and program a basic LED circuit while gaining practical insights into integrating electronics and coding into their curriculum.
